Rustem Abyazov
RUSTEM ABYAZOV
He is the founder, art director and chief conductor of the Kazan chamber orchestra La Primavera.
He is an honoured artist of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan, a national artist of the Republic of Tatarstan, a laureate of the State prize named after G. Tuqay, "Conductor of the Year" according to the All-Russian newspaper "Musical Review" (2002). In 2019 his name was included in the Book of honoured names of Kazan. He was awarded the medal “Duslyk” for his considerable contribution to the development of musical art and for longstanding creative activity by the decree of the president of the Republic of Tatarstan. In 2023 by the decree of the president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, he was awarded the order of Friendship.
Rustem graduated from Moscow and Kazan conservatoires as a violinist and a composer, and tours Russia, Tatarstan, the countries in Europe and Asia. As a soloist and a conductor he has recorded and released more than 30 disks. Abyazov’s compositions are performed, recorded, and can be heard on radio and TV. He is a participant in numerous music festivals. He is a founder and art director of the festivals: “Abyazov-festival”, L’arte del arco, “Chariot Clio. Musical pages of the region history”, “Mozart, you are God!..”; and of the projects: “Ten-year brotherhood”, “Tatar Stars from European stages”, “Mobile melodies”, the Republic art program to support young musicians “Stars from Tomorrow”.
Abyazov dedicates much attention to enlarging the repertoire of stringed orchestras. He has made more than 500 arrangements and orchestrations, the greater part of which being works by Tatar and Bashkir composers and folk songs. In 2018, he inspired the creation of a free note library for chamber orchestras with a free access on the orchestra site. Since 2021, he has been a senior lecturer in the Kazan state conservatoire.
