The competition of composers has All-Russian status, but, as the artistic director and chief conductor of the orchestra La Primavera Rustem Abyazov said, these boundaries are rather conventional. The new competition is not limited by geography or age.

The competition will be held on the eve of the 30th anniversary of the orchestra, which will be celebrated in 2019.

"Although we have about a year and a half before the anniversary, we have already started preparations for this significant date. We have planned many large-scale projects, and a composer competition being one of them", Rustem Abyazov said.

Composers should present a composition for a chamber string orchestra, and it should be not for more than 15 minutes. These compositions should never have been published or performed before, in this case they are allowed to take part in the competition. Thus, La Primavera hopes to acquaint public with creative work of contemporary composers and to replenish the repertoire of chamber orchestras.

Participation in the competition is anonymous: each composition will be signed with an identifying password. We finish to accept applications on August 1, 2018. The winner, whose opus will gain most votes, will get a cash prize of 70 thousand rubles, also there will be second and third prizes, and special prizes. The best compositions will be included in the program of the gala concert, which is planned for October of the next year by the organizers.
