Here is my brother - Rustem Abyazov, because we have the same violin mother, Irina Bochkova. It is here in Kazan, as I think, the most brilliant living composer – Sofia Gubaydullina started her career.

In a community such as a string orchestra, it is much more important if one listens to you than to play individually. And so, Moscow people think about Kazan as the third capital. I have always had great respect for Kazan's musicians, there are excellent cello, violin and piano schools here.

When I met Rustem Abyazov, I asked him to send me the repertoire of his orchestra. And I got... thirteen (!) pages in small print! I have never seen such a large and diverse repertoire for a chamber orchestra. It got me interested.
I’ve been to many festivals, I can compare. Everything is clear here, everything works, everything is always in place. If you have any questions, you get an answer straight away. Europeans can be jealous of the way the festival is organized.
